CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY

This project features a portrait of the mine detection dog Hanki, created from materials collected in Sarajevo, including from the iconic Hotel Igman. Initiated by René Konings and photographer Øistein Jakobsen, the work highlights the bravery and humanitarian efforts of mine detection dogs, with all proceeds dedicated to training new dogs. Inspired by the loss of vital funding for humanitarian mine clearance after the Trump administration withdrew support through USAID, the project connects Sarajevo’s streets to the walls of Fellesforbundet on Youngstorget, which initially financed Hanki’s training. It tells a story of resilience, hope, and collective effort in saving lives.
